My birthday surprise 26th March 2007, 08:25
Well, I was absolutley spoilt rotten this weekend. Brandon decided to take me away for my birthday this weekend and he found the most amazing place.

It's a five star self catering tented camp and its stunning.

Here's the view from outside the bedroom:

And look how stunning the bedroom is:

Fully stocked kitchen and dining room:

It had an amazing bathroom with a ball and claw bath and an outside shower with a view over the valley:

And the view of the room tent and the pool that we kept heated to 33 degrees:

Main pic is the stunning sunset over the mountains on my birthday.

Jay - the fat cat 16th March 2007, 13:37
This is Candice's cat, Jay. I always tell people how big he is and they never really "get it", so now I have proof of how big he actually is.

Cape Town 19th February 2007, 12:59
Went to Cape Town again last week for some work and extended the stay to the weekend for a bit of relaxation (and lots of driving around the coast and wine farms)

Coinage and other stupid drinking games 15th December 2006, 07:09
I have just found definative proof that coinage and other drinking games make you silly.

The night started off relatively calm:

Then we started to play coinage (Note the look on everyones faces - doesn't look like a good sign)

And eventually I end the night off wearing a tea cloth and a glass on my head - and don't even ask about the camera! Who would have guessed booze makes you so silly? ;-)

Cool pic 8th December 2006, 12:20
Cath took this cool pic of a crayfish that we bought in Mozambique.

Look carefully - Can you see the praying-mantis face? ;-)

Holiday im Mozambique 8th December 2006, 08:20
This is the start of our trip in Moz. The dirt road was really bad. It had just rained and we decided to take a "short cut" hahaha

The road got so bad that we could hardly keep the cars on the road - had a few "small incidents" including the Range Rover going sideways a lot ;-) Check the mud on the dash bonnet of the Landy!

And check how the trailer came sideways the whole time - cool view from the rear view mirror

Here's a pic of the Chalet we stayed in. Love the way they plat the Palm leaves on the roof.

Here's the view from the pub.

And Me driving the Landy on the beach - Cath took this from the very shallow end of the reef one morning when they went for a walk out there (The tide was out) Look how far it is - and this is the shallow side!

We had to go into the main town (Inhambane) and eventually found the one and only Petrol station -Petromoc- haha - not very big!

Dinner on our first night there - Yum

The view from our Chalet - You can see the Reef sticking out from the right hand side of the pic. (Its high tide at this time)

The main town of Xai Xai

The road home passes through a bad section of Maputo where the whole road is literally a market place

And a view of Maputo as we skirt past - I was surprised to see the big sky-rise buildings in the distance.

Billy Joel 1st November 2006, 06:46
Ok, I wouldn't normally admit this, but I guess it might get out...

I went to the Billy Joel concert last week and felt really old. The average age in the Dome was about 40 years old. It was strange to listen to someone who started playing hits that were released before you were even born. Even stranger that the fan base stayed out after bed time....

The organisation was bad (Whats new in SA?) and I had to fight with security for a good 30 minutes before they let me go downstairs to draw money. (I assume its really dangerous to let the fans have money (I mean they may even buy drinks at the bar if that happened! Fancy that!)

I missed all the known songs like Piano Man, but it was ok - At least I can say been there, done that, don't need to go again....
Sorry Billy...
